Sculptra is used to correct shallow to deep wrinkles and folds on the face as well as skin laxity in the chest and volume loss in the buttock.

How many treatments are required?

On average, a series of 3 treatments may be required over the course of a few months. The number of injections at each session does vary.

How soon will I see results?

Sculptra is designed to give you noticeable results that emerge gradually and can last anywhere from 5-7 years. You will start to see your skin’s natural collagen production after about 6-8 weeks but results can improve for up to 12 months!

How soon after treatment can I wear make up?

We recommend avoiding makeup use for at least 24- 48 hours to prevent the risk of infection.

Is Sculptra safe and what are the side effects?

Sculptra has been FDA-approved and used widely in the US since 1999. It is a synthetic material called poly-l-lactic acid that is absorbed naturally by the body and has been used for years in dissolvable stitches. Since it contains no human or animal contents, it is not required to complete allergy testing prior to treatment. Side effects may include pain at the injection site, redness, bruising, or tenderness.

What is the difference between filler and Sculptra?

Dermal Fillers are made of hyaluronic acid and are gel substances used to create support under the skin beneath wrinkles and creases. Results are immediate and usually last for 1-2 years. Collagen stimulators, such as Sculptra, are used to restore volume deep into the skin. Results are gradual and may require 1-3 injection sessions over the course of a few months. The collagen that is stimulated can last 5-7 years as your body loses its natural collagen.

Our primary fillers that are used are Juvederm and Restylane fillers which is made of hyaluronic acid. Acid may sound scary, but these are natural substances, i.e. Hyaluronic acid, which your body already has/creates, but starts to lose with normal aging. Fillers vary in thickness and viscosity and it is our job to determine which product would be best for the area you are looking to treat to create the most natural result. The use of fillers can be for addressing volume loss, wrinkles in the face or loss of plumpness in the face. As we age, our skin is more susceptible to wrinkles. This starts in our 20’s and continues to progress well into our 50’s and 60’s. We start to have a shifting in our facial fat pads, along with depletion and bony resorption. Fillers help to restore this volume and restore the structure that we lose in our face

How much does filler cost?

Every patients needs are different and there are a wide variety of treatments involving filler as well as various areas where they can be placed. With that in mind, cost can be variable based on your personal goals and the amount of correction needed.

When will I see results?

Results are visible immediately after treatment. The healing process can take 2-10 days based on swelling, the amount injected, the area injected and how your body responds to treatment. The product continues to settle for 2 weeks so please plan ahead before any major events or trips!

How long do results last for?

This is variable based on the area treated, your age, your starting point and the amount of sessions completed. Some patients may also metabolize faster than others. This can vary from 6-18 months.

Will filler make me look like I've "had work done?"

We get it. We've seen botch jobs on Instagram too! The best injectable is undetectable. Our goal is to bring out and highlight your natural beauty. You'll look younger, relaxed, well rested...but you won't look like you've had work done.

How many filler treatments will I need?

Fillers are a temporary solution so to maintain results, you may need maintenance procedures once a year or more!

What is the difference between Botox and dermal fillers?

Botox is often used to treat dynamic wrinkles, while fillers are more effective for static wrinkles that are always present. Neuromodulators, such as Botox and Dysport, use naturally occurring bacteria whereas dermal fillers use naturally occurring hyaluronic acid. Fillers tend to last a bit longer but tend to be a bit more expensive.

Why should I get IPL?

Your face immediately gives away your age. Years of unprotected sun exposure, harsh cleaners, and the process of aging can cause your skin to look dull and wrinkled. This treatment reverses the signs of aging by minimizing sun spots, sun damage, rosacea, melasma and so much more.

What does IPL feel like?

This procedure is gentle and non-invasive. Patients describe it as a small hot rubberband popping but there is no need for a topical anesthetic.

How do I prepare for this treatment?

Come to your appointment without any makeup and avoid direct sunlight exposure for at least 1 week prior to your treatment. We also will review your medications to ensure that this treatment is safe for you.

How many treatments will I need?

We often recommended a series of 3 sessions but this can vary based on your concerns and other complimentary treatments that may be used.

What can I expect after the treatment?

You will see some mild redness after the procedure, like a slight sunburn. This will dissipate after a few hours and your healthier skin will be shining through within a few days. In some cases, stubborn pigment can take 1-2 weeks to clear.

When can I wear makeup after a VI peel?

After the VI peel solution is applied to the skin, no makeup or any topical products should be applied for 4 hours, including sunscreen. We advise that you wait until you are completely done peeling to apply makeup to ensure cleanliness.

When can I workout after a VI peel?

You should refrain from exercising for 72-96 hours after receiving the VI Peel to prevent any blistering in the skin or Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH). If prone to PIH or with pigment damage/melasma it is suggested to refrain for the entire 7-day peeling process so you prevent inducing heat or inflammation in the skin which can lead to further damage.

How many times a year can I have a VI peel?

If a series is recommended, the VI Peel is suitable to receive every 4-6 weeks as directed by your Practitioner. Your Practitioner will be able to create your own unique skincare plan for your skincare needs. You can also have the VI Peels quarterly/seasonally and receive peels throughout the year for the maintenance of healthy skin.

Why am I not peeling?

There are many reasons why you may not see the peeling. Even if you can’t see something with the naked eye, the VI Peel is still working for you and exfoliating at the cellular level to brighten and improve your skin’s appearance.

Can I peel the skin that is haning during the peel process?

NO! NEVER PULL BACK on the skin that is shedding. It is recommended to use a clean, small cuticle scissor to trim the exfoliating skin. You can also wash the face to help gently remove the hanging skin, but be sure to not rub peeling skin. If washing the face multiple times a day, be sure to add moisture back to the skin by applying the Post Peel Protectant. You also MUST use SPF 50+ to protect the skin during and after the exfoliation process.

When can I go into the sun?

You want to avoid direct and extreme sun exposure for the first 7 days. Also, make sure you’re applying VI Derm SPF 50+ Sunscreen every morning.

How do microneedling work?

Microneedling is a procedure that uses small needles to prick the skin causing minor injuries. These pricks eventually heal and generate new collagen and skin tissue for smoother, firmer, and toned skin. Phase 1: Swelling. The medical provider will pierce your skin using an FDA cleared device. This will trigger your immune system to disinfect the wounds, remove debris, increase blood flow, and begin to create new tissue. Phase 2: Reproduction. During this phase, the wound will rebuild with new granulation cells, which are part of the extracellular matrix. Additionally, a new network of blood vessels will develop Phase 3 : Remodeling. RF microneedling takes the results of Skin Pen microneedling to the next level. This treatment works to eliminate years of damaged skin caused by the sun and the normal aging process. It is a non-surgical solution to skin resurfacing that corrects signs of skin damage and improves the appearance of acne scars, wrinkles, stretch marks, rosacea, enlarged pores, and uneven skin texture. What does a RF Microneedling treatment do?

RF Microneedling adds the element of radiofrequency energy to the traditional microneedling procedure. The RF energy is delivered via small needles. In addition to the benefits seen with the micro-injury provided by the microneedles, RF microneedling also delivers RF energy deep into the dermis further enhancing skin tightening and scar reduction. The RF energy heats the underlying layers, causing constriction and tightening of the skin, as well as the stimulation of collagen and elastin production. Because the RF energy is delivered so deeply, it can produce faster, more dramatic results. RF microneedling can offer similar results to ablative laser procedures, but with significantly less discomfort and downtime. A topical anesthetic is applied prior to treatment to ensure comfort throughout the procedure.

How long is the treatment and what how much downtime should I expect?

Treatment usually takes 45 minutes – 1 hour, depending on the size of the treatment area. Skin is typically red for the first day or two after treatment, but the redness is typically mild and much less than is often seen with laser procedures. It is little or no discomfort after the procedure and patients typically are able to return to regular activities within a day while being cautious about sun exposure and excessive sweating after the procedure.
