About Komal
Hi, my name is Komal Gandhi, and I am an esthetician at Chin Up! Aesthetics. My journey into aesthetics has been a little different than most. I graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in Business Administration and went on to spend a few years managing a small business before becoming an accountant at an insurance firm. After years of working in jobs that didn’t fulfill me, I decided to take a leap of faith and pursue aesthetics school. Starting over in a completely new career was challenging, but it has been the best decision I’ve ever made.
What drives me as an esthetician is both my own skin journey and my passion for helping others. During the COVID years, I struggled with acne that completely changed the way I viewed myself. I had never experienced more than mild teenage acne, but in my early twenties I began to break out heavily along my cheeks and jawline. Not only did I dislike how my skin looked, but I also felt the weight of how others perceived me.
Seeking help from an aesthetician made all the difference, and it inspired me to research treatments, ingredients, and skincare for hours on end. Through that process, I realized that many acne solutions are targeted toward oily skin types, while I personally have dry skin. That gap in knowledge motivated me to pursue aesthetics professionally, so I could help others who feel overlooked or frustrated in their own skin journey.
Before joining Chin Up! Aesthetics, I spent a year working as an esthetician at a traditional spa, where I gained valuable experience providing a wide range of facials and skincare treatments. That foundation gave me the skills and confidence to transition into the medical aesthetics space, where I can now combine results-driven treatments with my passion for client care.
As an esthetician, I strive to create a welcoming space where my clients feel cared for, understood, and confident. My goal is always to help people feel comfortable in their skin while working toward their skincare goals.
When I’m not in the treatment room, I enjoy cooking, exploring hiking trails, traveling, and trying out new restaurants around Atlanta. I also love hosting game nights with friends and family. In my downtime, you’ll often find me reading up on the latest skincare trends, products, and techniques so I can bring fresh knowledge to my clients.
