What is the difference between Botox and Dysport?

Botox and Dysport are both purified neuromodulator proteins. Through clinical studies and our experience, we believe Botox and Dysport perform equally. Botox® Cosmetic is an FDA-approved injectable that can be used to temporarily improve the appearance of forehead wrinkles, wrinkles in between the brows (glabella), and crow’s feet in adults. Botox® uses a form of botulinum toxin to temporarily paralyze muscle activity, which effectively relaxes the muscles and reduces the appearance of wrinkles on the skin. Botox® can also be used to reduce the effects of excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis). Dysport is used to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows, forehead lines and the wrinkles around your eyes. The main difference between Botox and Dysport (besides the manufacturer) is the number of units. One unit of Botox is equivalent to three units of Dysport. The pricing is equal but we can discuss during your consultation which product is best for you! Dysport and Botox are used to treat and prevent wrinkles in adults.
