How does microneedling work?
A provider glides an FDA cleared device with fine needles over your skin. Every tiny puncture is a small, controlled injury, and your body answers with its own repair process. First, blood flow rises and the area is cleaned up. Next, new tissue forms along with a fresh network of blood vessels. Last, the micro-injuries are replaced by new dermal tissue and vessels, which is what leaves skin smoother, firmer and more toned.

What is RF microneedling?
RF microneedling takes SkinPen results up a notch by adding radiofrequency energy. It is a non-surgical resurfacing option that works on sun damage and the signs of aging, stimulates your own collagen, and improves acne scars, wrinkles, stretch marks, rosacea, enlarged pores and uneven texture. The heat-based approach can create results similar to a CO2 laser, with less downtime.
What does RF microneedling treatment do?
Small needles deliver radiofrequency energy deep into the dermis, on top of the micro-injury the needles already create. The heat constricts and tightens the layers below, and it stimulates collagen and elastin production. Because the energy reaches so deep, results can come faster and look more dramatic, comparable to ablative laser with far less discomfort and downtime. A topical anesthetic goes on first so you stay comfortable.
How long is the treatment and how much downtime should I expect?
Most sessions take 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the size of the area. Your skin will typically look red for a day or two, but the redness is mild and usually much less than after laser. Discomfort afterward is little to none, and most people go back to regular activities within a day, taking care around sun exposure and heavy sweating.
What is PRP?
PRP, or platelet rich plasma, is made from a sample of your own blood. Platelets are the cells your blood uses to clot, and the plasma carries many of the factors involved in cell recruitment and growth factor production.
