What is Urinary Incontinence?

Urinary Incontinence is defined as the involuntary leakage of urine. This could be a result of weak pelvic floor muscles since these are the muscles that support pelvic organs and control continence. There are two distinct types of Urinary Incontinence that are common. Stress Incontinence occurs when pressure is exerted on the bladder, typically by coughing, laughing, sneezing, or exercising. Urge is simply a sudden, intense urge to urinate frequently Mixed incontinence is a combination of both stress and urge incontinence

What causes urinary incontinence?

This might be a result of weak pelvic floor muscles since pelvic floor muscles play an important role in supporting pelvic organs and controlling continence. Physiological changes can contribute to the development of urinary incontinence; changes such as vaginal delivery, menopause, and aging can decondition pelvic floor muscles.

How does Emsella Work?

Emsella is a HIFEM procedure, that utilizes electromagnetic energy, at a high frequency, causing pelvic floor muscle stimulation. This treatment is completely non-invasive and can be done without taking off your clothes! This treatment is often compared to performing Kegel exercise at a much higher intensity and frequency. How fast will I see results from Emsella treatments?

You may observe improvement after a single session. The results will typically continue to improve over the next few weeks.

What to expect from a treatment?

During the treatment you don’t have to worry about undressing, however, we recommend loosely fitted clothing to help achieve the best positioning during treatment. When the treatment begins you will feel slight tingling and vibrations in your pelvic floor muscles that will then turn into full contractions. The intensity is completely comfortable and tolerable. The treatment will take 28-minutes so relax, read a magazine or watch television. You will be able to return to normal activities after the treatment.

What is core to floor therapy?
